What we do

Five commercial refrigeration services, one contractor

Repair, installation, maintenance, efficiency upgrades and ventilation are handled by the same Red Seal team, so the technician who fixes a system at 2 AM is working from the same records as the one who installed it.

Cold room stocked with produce on shelving, the kind of system BC Freezer's commercial refrigeration services keep running
24/7

Emergency commercial refrigeration repair

When a walk-in, reach-in or rack system stops holding temperature, BC Freezer dispatches around the clock, weekends and statutory holidays included. Service trucks carry OEM compressors, TXVs, defrost sensors, contactors and coils, which is why the common failures are repaired on the first visit. When a part does have to be ordered, you learn that at diagnosis, together with the plan for holding temperature until it arrives.

Walk-ins

Walk-in cooler and freezer installation

Walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, dual-temperature boxes, blast freezers and parallel rack systems, each sized from a heat-load calculation built on your product, throughput and door traffic instead of a catalogue page. Nothing is handed over until it has been commissioned: superheat and subcooling set, defrost timing matched to the real load, and a verified temperature pull-down before the first case of product goes in.

Scheduled

Preventive maintenance plans

A maintenance visit is where compressor failures are actually prevented. Each one covers chemical cleaning of condenser and evaporator coils, refrigerant charge validation, electrical contactor and connection checks, door gasket and thermal barrier testing, defrost calibration and condensate drain flushing, and it ends with a written inspection report a health inspector can read.

Most commercial systems need that twice a year. Equipment breathing kitchen grease, bakery flour or butcher-shop air belongs on a quarterly schedule, as does anything holding high-value stock. Visits are booked around your trading hours, and several sites can sit under one agreement with one set of records.

CleanBC

Energy retrofits and upgrades

Older systems usually waste power in the same few places, and the upgrades that recover it are well established: electronically commutated (EC) fan motors in place of shaded-pole motors, digital scroll compressors, defrost that runs on demand instead of on a timer, and conversions away from high-GWP refrigerants. Cloud-connected temperature logging with phone alarms can be added to existing equipment at the same time.

What a retrofit saves depends on what is running now, so it is quoted after a site assessment rather than promised as a percentage. Where an upgrade qualifies for a CleanBC incentive, the expected rebate is itemised in the quote and BC Freezer prepares the technical paperwork for the claim.

NFPA 96

Commercial kitchen ventilation

Exhaust hoods and grease ductwork, direct and indirect fired makeup air units, exhaust fans with variable frequency drives, heat and energy recovery ventilators, and the air balancing that ties them together, designed and installed to the BC Building Code and NFPA 96.

Ventilation sits beside refrigeration here for a practical reason. A kitchen that exhausts more air than it replaces runs under negative pressure, drags warm outside air past every cooler door in the building, and presents as a refrigeration fault that refrigeration work alone will never cure.

Situations and the BC Freezer service that fits each one
What is happening Service First step
A cooler or freezer is warming, alarming or iced up, and product is at risk now Emergency repair Call 778-893-2222. Emergencies are dispatched by phone, not by form.
You are opening a site, adding cold storage, or a walk-in is no longer worth repairing Walk-in installation Book a site survey. The written quote follows the heat-load calculation.
The same unit keeps failing in summer, or you need service records for inspections Preventive maintenance Send your equipment list and number of sites for a plan quote.
The system works but is old, loud or expensive to run, or uses a high-GWP refrigerant Energy retrofit Book a site assessment. Rebate eligibility is itemised in the quote.
Smoke or heat hangs in the kitchen, doors pull shut on their own, or coolers near the line sweat Kitchen ventilation Ask for a hood and makeup air assessment before more refrigeration work.
You run several locations and want one contractor and one set of records Multi-site maintenance Request one agreement covering every site.
